Russia to double local products’ share by 2025 with import replacement

KRASNOYARSK, Aug 6 (PRIME) -- The Russian imports replacement program will more than double the share of local products on the market by 2025, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Friday.

"It is important not to reproduce the Soviet products but to establish production of modern models, exceeding the foreign analogues by their features. We are carefully developing the local element base, supporting imports replacement. The current program will allow us to raise the share of national products on the local market by two and a half times by 2025," Shoigu said.

He said that Russia is no longer as dependent on oil exports as it was in the past and that the social policies now meet the needs of the common people.
